The Sikh Rehat Maryada was the culmination of a long process which sought to codify the doctrines and practices for the ‘Guru-Panth’ in the early 20th century.
Though it is not without problems, the Sikh Rehat Maryada provides a common set of rules and practices for Sikhs to follow and as such is an important document for every Sikh to understand.
